Wild for you!

I really wanted to do something with that zebra heart on the cartridge; Love Struck. It is such a neat cut but I wouldn't cut it less then 3.5inches. I think this one is at 4inches and some of the stripes are pretty thin.

Supplies:

Solid Cardstock; Papertrey Ink (Kraft, Pure Poppy, Stamper's Select White, Smokey Shadow)
Pattern Paper; K&Company
Glimmer Mist (Marshmellow)
Smooch Spritz (Cherry Ice)
I-Rock
Border Punch; EK Success (Stamp)

Valentines Day Card

Yep Vday is coming! It isn't a big holiday in my house but I usually send out cards to family members letting them know I love them!

I am having a bit of trouble coming up with any ideas that I like but I did break out my Love Struck cartridge. I bought it last year and I don't think I ever even used it lol. It will get some good use this year I am determined!!

I really like the look of clear cards. It can be a bit challenging since whatever is on the inside will show through unless you align it right. I really don't do these cards enough.

Supplies:

Solid Cardstock; Papertrey Ink (Fine Linen) Red with gold flakes paper (no brand name)
Pattern Paper; K&Company (Olive Tree Kraft) Boxer (Pocket Watch)
Twine; Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream)
Glimmer Mist (Iridescent Gold)
I-Rock

Don't be trashy!

Isn't this garbage can the cutest one you have ever seen! lol All images were cut from the "Give a Hoot" Cartridge. I cut them as large as I could on a 12x12 mat. The black vinyl is Cricut brand vinyl and the red is "Wall Pops". I just love the word art. "Don't be Trashy" lol =)

It was an old garbage can that was down in the garage. I cleaned it up and decided I was going to do this. I have a little one that I put my unusable paper scraps and other recyclable things in but it is quite small and fills up easily. So this is my new one and it matches my room!!! =)

Here are a few helpful steps for using vinyl.

After cutting out your desired image with your Cricut in vinyl remove all excess vinyl. I like to use my Cricut hook tool. (I don't know the exact name but it looks like a hook and is very sharp.)

(I lost the correct picture for the image above and below but this one will work.)
The green stuff all over the word art is Green painters tape. (Regular masking tape works great  or you could use contact paper) I de-sticky it a little bit by rubbing it slightly on my jeans. Place the tape all over your image and then you can gently lift it off it's backing paper with out tearing or stretching the image.

Line up your taped layer image over the base image and smooth down in a diagonal motion.
(This isn't the best vinyl project I have done.... Not quite lined up exact and it tore a little. Oh well it's a garbage can lol)

Here is another view of my new Recycle can!!! Yeah!

What a layout!!!???

Surprise!!! It is very very very rare that I do layouts. In fact the only layouts I have done have been for my dog's (Guiness) on going, work in progress, scrapbook. I was inspired to do the challenge for the Cricut Circle blog though. It was not easy coming up with an idea for a layout specifically one about me but I got these papers in my head from the K&Company, EcoModern stack. I just love the colors and patterns in this stack, it has to be one of my favorites.

B.A.B.Y challenge

B - Brads
A - Aqua
B - Butterfly
Y - You as the subject

Supplies:

Solid cardstock; Papertrey Ink (Kraft, Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy) Metallic cardstock

Border Punch; Fiskars (scallop)

Create a Critter..... a kitty cat this time.

So yesterday while I was doing the My Pink Stamper challenge I also came up witht this cute kitty card.

The kitty was also printed with my Imagine: Imagine More Cartridge. The card base is Papertrey Ink cardstock (Spring Mist) and the background and paisley paper is from the DCWV Rockstar mat stack. The cardstock with the stamp on it is Papertrey Ink cardstock also (Rustic Cream) I used my I-rock on the bow, below the stamp sentiment and on the flower. Some inking with Antique Linen dristress Ink also.

Create a Critter!!

Oh how I love this cartridge!! It is such a cute one and perfect for those quick and simple cards. Robyn (My Pink Stamper) has a challenge on her blog for her birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBYN!
To view her site go here.

The challenge was to make a birthday themed project.. yep easy! So this is what I came up with.

The little dog is printed with my Imagine: Imagine More cartridge. The card base paper is Papertrey Ink cardstock (Ripe Avaocado) The skull and heart paper is from the DCWV Rockstar mat stack also the greenish paper on top of that is from the same stack. My Mind's Eye, photo mat stack home, was used for the lined paper and the stamp for the sentiment is just one I picked up at Michaels. I also used my I-rock on the puppies collar and some inking with Antique Linen distress ink.

Card is 4.25x5.5

Yep another Lori's Garden card

I don't know what it was but suddenly I was very inspired by the Imagine: Lori's Garden cartridge. I love the images on this cart, very soft and pretty. I kind of did the same setup for this card as I did with the other Lori's Garden card. The paper is K&Company (Wild Raspberry) and the base of the card is Papertrey Ink cardstock ( Enchanted Evening) also a little bit of Scarlet Jewel on this card too. The image is outlined with Gelly Roll (Stardust) pen and the bird and birdcage image is punched with my E.K. Success border punch (Stamp). I darkened all the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink.

This card is 4.25x5.5

Happy Birthday card with Lori's Garden

Well I hope everyone enjoyed my 10 days of organizing! It sure was fun! I may have to do something like that again. =) Here is a card I did with my Imagine. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

I just love this card! I really like the colors and the image turned out great! Both the "Happy Birthday" image and the mushroom image are both from Lori's Garden. I used the print and cut function for the "HB" image and just the print function for the mushrooms. The card base paper is from Papertrey Ink (Dark Chocolate), the pattern paper is from SEI (Oasis). I then used my i-Rock for the gems and some distress ink (Antique Linen) for the edges. Also the shimmer around the outlines of images I used my Gelly Roll pen (Stardust).
The card is 5x7.

Sorry the pictures are not my best... I've had to resort back to my old camera since my Nikon has died on me. I hope to get it fixed soon.

Day 10 Already?!

Wow I can't believe it has been 10 days already! I hope you have all found something useful to help you out in your own craft rooms or at least found this fun and entertaining!

My final organizing tip is for all of my Cricut cartridges. Those little buggers can take up a lot of room if you try to leave them in their original boxes! So I have stored the boxes away, along with their keypad overlays and books. Go to Cricut Search if you would like to have access to your cartridge books online!

Ok for this I have used a 8x8 Iris storage box which is similar to this one but smaller. I cut some generic card stock to fit inside and then used some sticky one sided Velcro and cut strips to adhere to the card stock. I then cut the opposite side of the Velcro and put that on the backside of my cartridge towards the top. Now you can stick your cartridge down and it wont move when you pick up the paper. Why do you need your cartridge to not move you may wonder!? Well I can fit 3 pages of cartridges in just one box! That is 60 cartridges in just this one space! I really love this storage option, it works just perfectly for me!

Day 9 Keep your clutter visible!

Don't hide it away in a drawer or cubby! You will never use it that way. My husband and I came up with this idea, it is similar to my magnetic board for my wall but it sits on my Expedit Shelves. Now, normally, this does have more of a useful function...lol. Right now it is just cluttered.

I know I have mentioned that I like to stamp things out and then use my copics and color them in but I have no idea what I will be doing with that image. Well, I would then stick the image on this board, that way when I am making other projects or just playing on the computer I can see it with out having to dig. Sometimes, I will suddenly get the best idea for that image or know exactly what paper I want to use with it. Kind of my own inspiration board.

Have a Magnetic Day 8

So today's organizing tip is for flowers.... Now I know I don't have as near as many flowers as some people do. In fact I have a very very very small collection but I do not use them that much. So this idea may not work but you may have something else you can use it for.

The white metal board and the spice containers (the circle ones) are from Ikea. The square containers I bought actually had some flowers in them. The two jars are from Michael's dollar spot area from a while back. I put a magnet on the bottom of them to make them stay on the board. This is also home to my ATG as you can see. It sits in a pencil cup I also found at Ikea. I have all kinds of little things that I have decorated my board with including pictures and stickers.

I like to color group everything for easy location.

There is a lot of magnetic storage ideas out there but also cork board or even peg board. Getting a sheet of peg board from you local hardware store and framing it can be a really nice storage solution! Here are really easy instructions to getting started with some peg board storage! ehow.com

Day 7 Stickles

Who doesn't love Stickles! I am glitter challenged... seriously I open up a jar of glitter and suddenly it is everywhere, even places I haven't been since opening it. lol So stickles is a wonderful substitute to glitter for me. Since it's glue with glitter in it, all those wonderful sparkles stay put where I want them too! These do take a while to dry but it is all worth it in the end.

Now like Copic Markers or markers in general, Stickles also have different preferences on storing them. Though with these little tubes you can either store them right side up or up side down. I believe it is better to store your Stickles upside down to avoid air bubbles and those unsightly splatters! But there is no right or wrong way, which ever works best for you!

Now I bought these 8x10in picture frames at the dollar store. I put some White card stock in the picture frame and then used some sticky Velcro on the glass. I cut little strips of Velcro to attach to the Stickles bottle. There you have it.... easy yet effective way to store Stickles and it's eye pleasing! =) Also you can put them on a shelf like I have or hang them up like a picture if you are lacking shelf space.

Day 6 is all about Card storage!!

Cardmaking is by far my favorite hobby, yes I have a few other hobbies. As for being a cardmaker we tend to always have a a lot of  cards on hand. Now you can use the Clip it up to store your cards or you can also get this card organizer at Michaels. I first saw this at another store around Christmas time (The one with the red lid). The red lid one I used my label maker to label each section ie; Thinking of you, Get well, Thanks and others.

The all clear one I have all the holidays and birthdays cards stored in. Also the little black pocket on the front of it holds stamps.

Card storage for birthdays, Christmas, Valentines and other holidays.

Card storage for miss you, thinking of you and thank you type cards.

The inside.

This is one of those rods that you can get at Ikea. I forgot the name of it. This is where I put my cards that I have just finished, ones I'm about to use and holiday cards.

Each of my cards are stored in some clear resealable bags. I found mine at a local store (Paper Zone) but I know you can also get them on line at Clear Bags or on ebay. You get quite a few for a good price and they are reusable!

Day 5.... Clip it up!

Ok so I know many of you may have seen this one already but it is a great way to keep embellishments, stickers and gems together and catagorized. This one is rather large with both sections it stands about 2ft 4in. and you need about 1 1/2 ft square around to allow it to turn. Of course that depends on what you have hanging there.

It is also useful to store some fabric, Cricut Cartridges or to store your cards that you have made. Also you can store you clear stamps too!

Not only do they have the clip it up but they also have this ribbon organizer. I don't own one but it is a great alternative for ribbon storage!  If you wold like to check out more clip it up products go HERE.

Ribbon ribbon everywhere! Day 4

I have to say that this organizing tip is definitley not my own. I do not remember where I first saw it but I love it and works great for me! The jars are just regular canning jars that I found at Craft Warehouse. I then found some "vintage" style clothespins that I wrapped my ribbon around and used some sewing pins to hold the ribbon on.

I have a jar for each color. The fact that it kind of showcases the ribbon and colors is what I liked about this storage idea. You will probably notice that with all of my organizing tips lol. I may need to have two jars for 'reds'  =)

I know this one is kind of short but what else can I say about ribbon?

Day 3..... Paper!!

I love paper! Of course what paper crafter doesn't!? I'm trying not to hoard it so much and actually break it out and use it. So how do  you organize solid and pattern paper, 8.5x11 or 12x12?? Well for me each different one has it's own storage solution.

I am a big fan of Papertrey Ink card stock, it is super heavy and great for card bases! The colors are wonderful and they are still coming out with new colors to add. I this card stock in almost every project I do. I just can't say enough about them! Here is how I have this card stock organized....

I got this paper storage off of Craig's list. I know I've posted this one before but here it is again! Each one I have labeled so I can easily see the name of each color. I like it since I can see what I'm running low on, so I can order more. =)

Alright on to 12x12 paper. I store my solid colors and patterns the same way. I bought these Iris Storage units at Joann's. These hold a lot of paper!! I have anything from colored card stock, Pattern paper and all sizes of paper stacks. I've also labeled mine so I can easily find what I want.

I like to have things where I can see them. Out of sight out of mind, definitely works on me, so storing paper like this really helps me out.

Spinning with Day 2!

This is the greatest thing I have found to store all of my tools that I use almost on a daily basis. I got this spinning organizer at Craft Warehouse. I know Michaels carries one that is a little different style then this one. It holds everything!!

.
I even decorated it up a little bit using some red paper and a Martha Stewart border punch (Cityscape) and a decorative rub on. Had to make it match my room!

Get Organized Day 1

Markers have always been tough for me to organize. So many different shapes and sizes! I wanted to separate my Copic markers by color family and still have room for some of my other markers and pens. My husband built me this marker station. It hold everything I want and more, and as a bonus has storage below and on top too! Now I know this one was custom built for me but there are some great storage ideas out there to choose from in many different styles. Just get the one that will work for you and leave you some room to grow! I also like to store my markers horizontal but I believe there is really no right or wrong way to that. Horizontal or vertical, your preference.

Look at all those pretty colors!

I store my Distress Inks below along with some odd and end stuff and my I-rock off to the right. I above I have my light and Gypsy.

Stop by tomorrow for Day 2!

Special project coming up starting Monday 1-10-11

Since it is the New Year and I know many people are trying to get organized for 2011 I thought I would share some organization products, tips or tricks that I have found work great for me. I do have one New Year's resolution; Don't buy stuff I wont use!! lol I went through my craft room and found many things that I thought were going to be fantastic but just did not work out for me. So I sent a very full box to Goodwill. So I'm trying to triple think on what I buy this year, which will also help keep me organized lol. See it all ties together in the end!

So starting on Monday, January 10th, I will have a post each day for 10 days. Each post will have a different product, tip or trick that relates to getting organized in your craft room. Alright thats it for me see you all Monday!! Have a great weekend!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Ok so I know I'm like a week late but so far it has been one crazy year lol. Just a lot of work stuff going on nothing bad or anything. I do hope everyone had a safe and happy New years though. My husband and I stayed home and watched movies. =) With working retail and all I prefer to avoid a lot of people lol.

So I made this card, well actually I finished this card. I printed the digi stamp out a while ago. I like to do that cause then I can just color it in when I feel like it and then made the image into a card when I want to. So thats my tip for the day! =) I think I have shared that one before but it never hurts to say it again...right? Right.

Ok here is the card.....

So the card base is made with some pre-made cards and envies. They are made out of a dark purple Mulberry paper. Which does make it a bit thinner then some of my regular cards but a good layering of Papertrey Ink cardstock on the inside where the sentiment goes will help with that.

The pattern paper is K&Company paper (Que Sera Sera)
PaperTrey Ink Cardstock (Spring Mist, Vintage Cream)
Copic Markers
Distress Ink (Vintage Photo)

Circle It!!
